Live stream flow data for the Muscatatuck River in Indiana
Data is supplied from the USGS Gauging station web site

03369500 Vernon Fork Muscatatuck at Vernon

This stream flow intrepretation was kindly supplied by Jeff Kuhn, a member of the Hoosier Canoe Club: 84 cfs at this gauging station should be considered the bare minimum flow for attempting this trip. Most of the riffles would barely float a canoe. We scraped bottom many times but never had to get out and push.

According to Jeff Kuhn, at 745 cfs the water was quite high, and not too challenging, but approaching class II.

We need your help interpreting the stream flow data for other river users. When you take a river trip, note the stream flow during your trip and report it to us. Also let us know generally how your trip went. Did your boats scrape bottom much? Did you get stuck at any point? Was the river too fast for fun? Was it a pleasant float the whole way? Let us know at Trips@IndianaOutfitters.com
